FEMALE football players will get the chance to show their football skills in Uxbridge this month.

The assessment match will be held in Brunel Sports Centre on Saturday, February 25 for girls aged 15-21 with the prospect of going to study at American universities.

The event is organised by United Sports USA, an American sports scholarship consultancy, who provide students and families with a service that results in the kids achieving sporting and academic scholarships within the US college system.

United Sports USA spokesperson Gabi Bilin said: “Female football is massively overlooked in the UK compared to the US – there doesn’t seem to be enough encouragement and opportunities for girls.

“We continuously observe that girls are unaware of their possibilities across the Atlantic where female football (soccer) is more supported.”

On the day, players will see a presentation explaining the scholarship process and the student-athelte lifestyle in America, followed by the assessment match where experienced former collegiate athletes will evaluate players.

Kyle Maxwell, female soccer consultant said: “This event will be beneficial for players taking their first steps towards achieving their ambitions both athletically and academically.”

While higher education is getting more and more expensive in the UK, sports scholarships in America provide a good alternative.

Students who look into taking this route can receive substantial scholarships resulting in a more affordable education than doing a degree in the UK.

American Universities offering sports scholarships also have first class sports facilities that facilitate training and contribute to better athletic results.

Since 2009, United Sports USA have placed student athletes from 22 nations world-wide, spanning four continents at colleges in 41 states in the USA generating over $18,000,000 in scholarship funding for the most talented soccer players, golfers, swimmers and track and field athletes.

The sports scholarship experts are constantly looking for new talented athletes to help them fulfil their potential.
