The Stanmore Specsavers was one of many branches that made a contribution to the optician's £4,293 fundraising total for North London in aid of Comic Relief – helping to contribute to Specsavers national total of £475,000.

‘Super Saturday Bonanzas’ were held at Specsavers in Harrow, Wood Green, Wembley, Stanmore and Edgeware Broadwalk.

The fundraising occurred through initiatives such as raffles giving customers the chance to win a pair of designer sunglasses, competitions such as 'name the puppy'; the whole team decking themselves out with red, and selling homemade cupcakes.

‘Specman’ made a special appearance to have his eyes checked at the Harrow store, while a local singer serenaded customers in Hayes.

Prior to Saturday’s admirable fundraising efforts, the Comic Relief ‘give us a wave’ glasses were on sale across all North London stores in the lead up to the event to help boost charitable donations.
