There’s lots of waggy tails at Dogs Trust Harefield as staff gear up for their annual fun day.

Taking place at the charity situated at Highway Farm House, Harvil Road – Sunday 4th June 2017 from 10.30am to 4.00pm – this fun-filled day is great for the whole family.

With a few weeks to go, the rehoming centre is pulling out all the stops to make the event bigger and better than ever.

The charity is appealing to members of the public and local businesses to donate a variety of prizes for the raffle and tombola which will help raise vital funds, such as wrapped sweets, boxes of chocolates, any doggy items including treats, toys, collars and leads, unwanted gifts, toiletry sets and bottles of wine.

Sian Bourn, Supporter Relations Officer at Dogs Trust Harefield, said: “Our fun day is a fantastic opportunity to meet local dog lovers and raise pounds for the homeless hounds in our care. There are all sorts of fun activities planned throughout the day so please come along and support Dogs Trust Harefield – we can promise you a really fun day out for all the family!

“The prize raffle plays a huge role in the day. We’re so grateful for those who have already donated wonderful goods for the raffle but we still need donations. We would also really appreciate homemade cakes to sell on our cake stall.

“Previous years have seen over 6000 people attend and we’re expecting the same if not more visitors this year, so it’s a great opportunity to join in the fun with two and four-legged friends!”

Highlights of the day include have-a-go agility, a grand raffle, a doggy game zone with ‘Doggy Dash’ and ‘Haystack Hurdles’, a dog tombola and lucky dip, plenty of games for the whole family including a coconut shy and mystery bottle stall, face painting and lots of stalls to peruse. Four-legged friends may even be able to win their very own rosette in the fun dog show!

The event will host a rehoming centre parade to highlight a few of the current residents at Dogs Trust Harefield looking for their special someone. There will also be a variety of Dogs Trust merchandise available to buy on the day and delicious refreshments to enjoy.

The entrance fee is £3 for adults, £2 for children and OAPs. There will be free parking at the event.
