CONSTRUCTION is well underway on Park View Court, a £13.8m 60-bedroom supported housing scheme in Uxbridge for older people.

The new apartments, off Farrier Close, are being constructed by Stepnell for Hillingdon Council.

The scheme aims to provide older residents with the opportunity to live independently in the community for as long as possible, providing graduated levels of support as their needs change.

The development, on the site of the former Park View Day Centre, will offer 57 one-bedroom and three two-bedroom extra care apartments, along with a central reception area, communal living spaces and staff and admin space.

A unique feature will be a ‘winter garden’ connected to each apartment, enclosed by structural glass sliding panels, for residents to enjoy.

Cllr Philip Corthorne, Hillingdon Council cabinet member, said: "This is one of two large housing developments we're investing in to support older people who want to carry on living independently.”
