A SOCIAL worker from Hillingdon was honoured at the Social Worker of the Year Awards.   

Marcos Vicinanza, who works for Hillingdon Council, won the silver award for Team Leader of the Year in Children’s Services at the event in London.

It recognises individual team leaders working in children’s services who show clear leadership skills and the ability to successfully manage a team.

Marcos has spent much of his social work career, which spans almost 20 years, with Hillingdon, where he is currently manager of the leaving care team.

The judges described him as a calm and composed leader under pressure and praised him for his tireless commitment, passion and contribution to social work.

Marcos was presented with his award by celebrity chef and awards patron Lorraine Pascale in front of an audience of 400.
