CHRISTMAS has come early for carers in Hillingdon after receiving a donation towards their life-changing work from the new Asda South Ruislip store.

Earlier this year, the Dairy Lane store asked customers to nominate a worthy good cause in the community.

And the store team are delighted to announce that Hillingdon Carers, the winning nominee, has received £250 for their work.

It will be put towards a nail-cutting service as many older people experience reduced mobility from something as simple as not being able to cut their nails and care for their own feet.

Hillingdon Carers work to improve support, services and recognition for anyone living with the challenges of caring for a family member or friend who is ill, frail, disabled or has mental health or addiction problems

Laura Skov, of Asda South Ruislip, said: “We had so many worthy entries and it was great to read about all of the fantastic people and groups that help to make up our community.

“The team and I believe that Hillingdon Carers is a truly great cause, and the work they do to support carers in the borough is amazing.”

Sally Chandler, chief executive of Hillingdon Carers, said: “The nail-cutting service we will provide with the donation will make an invaluable difference for a great number of carers.”
