MORE than 90 girls from Northwood College for Girls junior school put on their trainers on a rainy day in October to take part in the Moor Park Junior Fun - and their stirring efforts raised more than £3,000 for the Lynda Jackson MacMillan Centre, based at Mount Vernon Hospital.
A parent had suggested the college support the event and the girls were delighted to get involved, raising more money than any other participating school.
Two visitors from the Lynda Jackson centre joined school to thank the girls and explain that the money will make a significant difference to patients.

Since 2002, more than 19,000 people have taken part in the run and more than £600,000 raised to support people affected by cancer.
Junior school head Zara Hubble said of her pupils. “They work so hard to raise money for various charities via mufti days, cake sales and other creative fund-raising initiatives.
“Their dedication reaps rewards as they have already raised more than £5,000 since the start of this academic year in September.”
