DAVE, the one-eyed kitten featured in an RSPCA Facebook post over the holidays, has had an operation paid for by generous donors.

Hillingdon branch of the RSPCA has thanked people who made a donation towards the cost of his operation and treatment, raising more than £700 in total.

“You are all amazing!” said a spokesman. “Our brave little boy is now doing really well and, oblivious to his one-eyed status, is just enjoying all the normal fun and mischief that kittenhood entails.

“He is a really confident and cheeky lad, who is into literally everything and loves to be on the go, except when indulging in his other favourite activity of eating!!

“He hero-worships the resident cat in his foster home, who has been admirably tolerant of her new small, furry shadow!

“We’re delighted to say Dave was signed off by the vet this week and the search is now on for his purrfect forever home.

"If you could offer him the love and life he deserves and a new beginning in 2018, please complete an adoption application form.

“Many thanks again for the support you have shown for the wonderful Brave Dave who has captured so many hearts. HAPPY NEW YEAR!”
