KNITTING club members at a care home have donated their efforts to the Dogs Trust West London in Harefield.

They have supplied blankets for the kennels and also handmade jumpers, ideal for keeping the dogs warm on chilly walks.

Rachael Cresdee, lifestyle co-ordinator at Oak House, Slough, said: “We had started knitting for the residents, but most of them have blankets already, so we thought we would get more involved with the community.

“Oak House knitting club really enjoyed their visit to Dogs Trust. It was great to see all of the hard work they do for dogs in need. They gave us an unexpected tour on the day, which we really enjoyed.

“Seeing Toby model one of the jumpers we made on the day was fantastic! We were delighted to donate blankets and jumpers and are always on hand if they need more.”

Dogs Trust centre manager Richard Moore added: “With the weather so unpredictable from one day to the next, it’s so useful to have extra blankets and jumpers on hand to deal with the colder days.”
