Young Jubilee winners honoured by borough
WINNERS of the Queen’s Jubilee Award for Personal Achievement were honoured on Friday.
Schools in Hillingdon were asked to nominate a pupil who had demonstrated an outstanding achievement in their educational and personal progression.
The four winners were invited to an awards ceremony at the mayor’s parlour in the Civic Centre.
Trophies were presented to Cameron Hill, of Hedgewood Primary School,, John Booth, of Moorcroft School, Lucy Kelly, of Grangewood School, and Ty Bourne, of Chantry School.
Cameron was nominated by Hedgewood head teacher John Goddard, who praised him for his contribution to school and community activities.
Lucy was nominated for her amazing progress and achievements by her class teacher, Carol Aplin.
Headteacher Liz Forshaw, of Moorcroft School, nominated John Booth in recognition of his significant learning developments and his kind and caring nature.
Ty Bourne was nominated by his teachers from for his positive attitude and commitment during a fire safety training project with the London Fire Brigade.
