Uxbridge College students have made a video with Britain’s Got Talent Stars DJ Talent and Stavros Flatley which attracted nearly 8,000 views on YouTube in three days.

Creative media student Tim Mizon and his team contacted DJ Talent (Anthony Ghosh) who decided to work with the group - and also brought dancer Stavros into the project.

The video for DJ Talent’s track ‘Tweet Me’ was filmed and edited in Uxbridge town centre and in the college’s media studios, and posted on YouTube on January 15.

Tim, 18, who has released the video under his Dry Line Productions label, said: “I was able to contact Anthony Ghosh (DJ Talent) through Facebook. I offered him a fee-free opportunity to cut a media video, which would give me some experience. I had already dabbled in music videos and showed him examples of my work to date. But I had not worked with a big name artist and asked if he would be interested.

“Not only did he positively respond to my invitation, but he also invited and ultimately involved Stavros Flatley in a cameo role. “Some of my student friends became fellow crew members. I then set up a date for the shoot using the excellent studio facilities at the college. We also went into the Uxbridge town centre for some of the footage. “This created a lot of interest from the local shoppers who were amazed to see two Britain’s Got Talent biggest stars in town. Stavros stripped off his shirt and offered some of his trademark poses, which brought much laughter and interest.”

Garth Twa, media lecturer, said : ‘Tim, and the entire cohort of media students, have produced work that has been astounding. Since last year, they’ve not only developed skills that attracted professional interest, but they’ve put those skills to use. Besides the video for DJ Talent, they’ve also shot two music videos for Duncan Reid (of the seminal punk band, The Boys) which are airing on music channels in South America and Germany. They have bright futures ahead of them, and have really done Uxbridge College proud.”
