STUDENTS on their way to the London College of Fashion and other leading institutions showcased their work at Uxbridge College’s end of year catwalk show.

The designs by students on the BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in the Fashion course were shown as part of the college’s Creative Week, which gives students across all creative disciplines a chance to share their work.

Creative Week included exhibitions and performances at the college’s Uxbridge and Hayes campuses, a film festival at Regent Street Cinema in central London, and an art exhibition in ‘The Attic’ in Pinner.

The Mayor and Mayoress of Hillingdon, Councillor Allan Kauffman and Mrs Lynne Kauffman, were guests of honour at the fashion show and also visited the art exhibition at the Uxbridge campus.

Lyn Stevenson, Section Manager for Media and Art & Design said: “This year’s collections showed real creative flair, an eye for current trends and some very impressive technical skills.

“The number of offers Uxbridge College students have received from prestigious organisations such as the London College of Fashion, RADA and Central St Martins University says it all about what is being achieved here.

“The combination of natural talent, hard work, and making use of our outstanding teaching and facilities has enabled our students to fulfil their potential and come top in what is a highly competitive area.”
