Uxbridge College welcomed constituency MP Boris Johnson for his first ever visit to the College.
The MP for Uxbridge and South Ruislip, who was elected into the seat in June, toured the Uxbridge campus and met students on a range of academic and vocational courses. This included visits to motor vehicle and electrical engineering workshops, media & IT centre, science labs, sports hall and art studios in the College’s new Art & Design block.
The Conservative MP, who was accompanied by Ray Puddifoot, Leader of Hillingdon Council, spoke to staff and students about what they were doing and even served a volley in the sports hall.
Laraine Smith OBE, Principal of Uxbridge College, said: “We were very pleased to host Mr Johnson’s tour of Uxbridge College which is part of his programme of visits to locations across the constituency. It was a great opportunity to showcase our facilities to one of our key local representatives, and to give our students a chance to see politics in action. We look forward to continuing to host visits from all our local politicians and other supporters in this our 50th anniversary year.”
