Ruben Sewkumar says his stammer, which he has had for as long as he can remember, has sometimes made it hard for him to communicate – but rapping has helped him find his niche. He has written and recorded his own tracks and can perform without completely stammering, which is not possible for him when he speaks.

Enterprising Uxbridge College students have raised charity cash through a range of activities launched on an investment of just £10. Small businesses were set up as part of the Tenner Tycoon challenge selling items including international foods, decorated wooden cutlery, CDs of original music and hand-made jewellery. A STUDENT band from Uxbridge College has won the silver medal in a national competition. The Ride – consisting of Andrew Smart, 17, Ukesh Gurung, 17, Simon Tajhya, 21, Tianna Johnson, 18, and Simba Nyamfukudzam 17 - came second in the popular music category of the WorldSkills UK competition with their blend of rock, rap and reggae. They were judged on their live performance at the national finals held at the Skills Show in Birmingham.
