A HILLINGDON student was crowned winner of the table tennis U19 category in the Jack Petchey Foundation London Schools Individual Finals.
Mitchell Jones, 16, from Harefield Academy, beat teammate Danny Lewis in the West London regional final.
He will now go on to play winners from the other four London regions at the finals in June at the University of East London.
The West London regional final brought together 82 students from 13 different schools in Brent, Ealing, Hammersmith and Fulham, Harrow, Hillingdon and Hounslow.
The Jack Petchey championships were established to get more young people competing. The project also includes the donation of tennis tables to schools.
