YOUNGSTERS from West London will have the opportunity of a lifetime this weekend when they take part in the Land Rover Premiership Rugby Cup, under the watchful eyes of London Wasps wings Tom Varndell and Christian Wade.

The event this weekend will be hosted by Wasps and run at Farnham Royal Rugby Club.

More than 40,000 children have played in the tournament since its inception, with the winners from each festival taking part in the Parade of Champions at the Aviva Premiership Rugby Final at Twickenham in May, when they will be presented to a sell-out crowd at half-time.

West London clubs will go head to head with others from the South East, and the young players will also get the chance to meet British & Irish Lion Wade and last year's top Aviva Premiership try scorer Varndell.

Varndell said: "This type of event – supported by sponsors such as Land Rover - is the foundation of rugby in the community, and something we should be really proud of.

"I'm sure there will be some of the next generation of London Wasps players on show.

"I still remember playing at this age and loving my rugby, so I can't wait to get along on Saturday and see the children enjoying the game like I did."

Land Rover is proud to be supporting the development of rugby through their sponsorship of the Premiership Rugby Cup, Premiership Rugby Academy and the award-winning Hitz programme.
