Saracens claimed the first silverware of the season at the Ricoh Arena after a 29-7 victory in the Women's Premiership Rugby 7s final over Bristol Rugby.

Having beaten the same opposition 28-26 in the pool stages, Saracens were favourites and tries from Garnet MacKinder, Seraphine Okemba and Nina Vistisen put them 17-0 up at half-time.

Tilly Vaughan-Fowler gave Bristol some hope, but further scores for MacKinder and Vistisen meant Saracens continued the men's success from last year where they won the Premiership Rugby and European double.

Bristol and Saracens had made it into the final, played in front of live BT Sport cameras at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry, after emerging triumphant from a qualifying tournament at Broadstreet RFC earlier in the day.

Bristol had seen off Worcester Valkyries 31-12 in their semi-final, while Saracens beat Aylesford Bulls 31-7 to make it to the Ricoh Arena.

Saracens opened the scoring through MacKinder when she burst down the left wing and Okemba found space down the opposite wing soon after to increase her side's lead to 12-0.

And Saracens had their third try before half-time as Vistisen used her pace to get round the Bristol defence once more to give her side a commanding advantage at the break.

Vaughan-Fowler got her side back in the game with the opening score of the second-half but a second from MacKinder - successfully converted by Vistisen - put Saracens back in control.

Vistisen had her second with a minute left on the clock to seal victory, a 29-7 win and the Women's Premiership 7s title for Saracens.
