Watford are worth backing to claim a home win over Gillingham tonight in the EFL Cup.
The Hornets are targeting a first competitive victory under new head coach Walter Mazzarri and are heavy favourites to defeat their League One opponents.
Watford are 4/9 with Betfred for the win but there are better ways to back the Premier League side than taking this slender price.
A more tempting option is for the Hornets to win by two goals at 16/5 with Ladbrokes. Even a one goal margin of victory offers potential value at 13/5 (Paddy Power).
The last time Watford faced the Gills was in 2007 at Vicarage Road when the hosts ran out 3-0 winners in this competition.
There are often plenty of cup upsets at this stage of the competition but Gillingham come into this tie off the back of a 5-0 drubbing at Scunthorpe.
Justin Edinburgh's side are 15/2 with Coral but this still does not appeal especially after their weekend hammering.
The draw is priced up at 7/2 and fans fearing a long night may want to consider either side winning on penalties. Both teams are 14/1 to win via a shootout at 14/1 (Sky Bet).
