A total of 10 Watford players have been called up for international duty this week, ahead of the start of the UEFA World Cup qualifiers which get underway next weekend.

New boys Christian Kabasele and Daryl Janmaat have been named in the Belgium and Netherlands squads respectively, with the former in line to make his debut in Roberto Martinez's first international squad.

The Red Devils will take on Spain on Thursday before their qualification campaign begins against Cyprus on September 6.

Elsewhere, Jose Holebas (Greece), Valon Behrami (Switzerland) and Ikechi Anya (Scotland) complete the Hornets' representation for European nations.

Outside of Europe, Morocco will face Albania in a friendly on Wednesday evening before hosting Sao Tome and Principe on Sunday, in a double-bill where Nordin Amrabat could feature.

Adlene Guedioura's Algeria will take on Lesotho in African Cup of Nations qualifying on September 6, and Odion Ighalo's Nigeria will face Tanzania on Saturday in the same competition.

Juan Carlos Paredes has also joined up with the Ecuador squad, with the South American nation taking on Brazil on Thursday, and then Peru on September 6, in their own World Cup qualifying tournament. After six games of qualifying, they sit joint top of the standings for Russia 2018.
