West Brom boss Tony Pulis described Allan Nyom as a "smashing signing" after the defender helped them beat former club Watford on Saturday.

Nyom struggled to win over the Hornets fans during his year at Vicarage Road and joined the Baggies on a permanent deal in August.

The Cameroon international impressed at the Hawthorns on Saturday and appeared to take great pleasure in celebrating the win after being taunted by the visiting supporters.

Pulis said: “He’s a good lad and he’s been a smashing signing for the football club.

"When we signed him everybody at Watford gave him a lot of praise for being a good lad.

"He has a point to prove out there every week. It’s always nice to win against your old club but it’s no different to any other game for me."
