Watford fans hoping to see the Hornets at Everton next month will be forced either to stay overnight in the north west or take on the 400-mile round trip by car.
The last train from Liverpool Lime Street back to Watford departs at 8.48pm, shortly after the start of the second half at Goodison Park.
For those who enjoy coach travel, there is the option of a bus leaving Liverpool at 11.55pm - but it does not arrive in London until 6.15am the following day, and does not factor in the trip back to Watford afterwards.
Even leaving the match on the stroke of full-time will take between three and four hours by car, meaning hardy fans driving to and from the game will be unlikely to be back home before 2am.
With the game at Goodison Park to be played exactly a month today, the news of the re-arrangement from the original date of May 13 will come as further disappointment to anyone who has already organised travel to the north west.
