Udinese goalkeeper Orestis Karnezis will join Watford, Newcastle or Crystal Palace, his agent has told Italian media.

The 32-year-old has been a long-time target of the Hornets, who are searching for competition for current number one Heurelho Gomes.

The player's representative, Claudio Vagheggi, told the Watford Observer earlier this year he would not leave Udine during the summer, but it appears his outlook for his Greek international client has since changed.

Instead, he told CalcioNapoli24: "He'll play for Watford, Newcastle or Crystal Palace. Links to Napoli are dead."

Karnezis had been linked with the Naples club during the transfer window as a replacement for Pepe Reina, but the former Liverpool stopper is staying at the Stadio San Paolo for now.

The experienced stopper has 42 caps for Greece, and has spent the past three years as Udinese's first-choice goalkeeper - with the club controlled by the Pozzo family who are also the owners of Watford.
