Watford Under-23s were battered 6-1 at Blackburn Rovers in the Premier League cup at in the North West last night, continuing their win-loss form for another game.
The Hornets were two goals down before the break through a brace of strikes from Callum Wright.
And a second-half onslaught saw Lewis Mansell, Jack Doyle and Scott Wharton put the game beyond Watford by the hour mark.
Dan Butterworth put the icing on the cake for Rovers before Michael Folivi responded with little more than a consolation for the visitors.
The defeat puts Watford second in their Premier League Cup group, behind Blackburn and ahead of Southampton, who they beat in their first game, and Cardiff City.
Watford Under-23s: Gartside, Eleftheriou, Mason, Rowan, Stevens, Mukena (Jakubiak 51), Stewart (Sesay 73), Djedje, Folivi, Ryan, Williams (Charles 64).
Not used: Huja, Hoskins.
