Yuto Nagatomo is reportedly a summer transfer target for Watford, with the Hornets set to battle it out with West Ham United to secure his services.

The Inter Milan full-back, 31, is currently on loan at Turkish side Galatasaray where he has made four appearances since completing a switch last month.

Reports in Italy claim the two Premier League sides are keen to complete a permanent move for the Japanese international this summer.

Having played over 100 league games for the Serie A giants, Nagatomo would add experience to the Watford ranks.

Capable of playing on either side of the defence, Nagatomo usually operates as a left-back – a position where Watford are in need of cover.

At 33 Jose Holebas is in the twilight of his career and Marvin Zeegelaar has had more downs than ups in his maiden season in the Premier League.
