Matej Vydra is unlikely to make his Burnley debut against former club Watford in the Premier League on Sunday.
The £11million signing is short of match fitness after a disrupted pre-season at Derby and is not yet considered ready for first-team action.
Vydra came through 90 minutes for the Under-23s at the start of the week, scoring in a 4-1 victory over Cardiff City, and is again likely to play for the young Clarets side on Monday.
But he is not expected to feature against the club for whom he made his name in the English game, scoring 36 league goals during two seasons on loan.
Sean Dyche is set to several changes after yesterday's Europa League win over Istanbul Basaksehir but Robbie Brady, Steven Defour, Nick Pope and Tom Heaton remain on the injured list.
Provisional Burnley squad: Hart, Legzdins, Lowton, Taylor, Tarkowski, Mee, Gibson, Ward, Bardsley, Long, Cork, Hendrick, Westwood, Lennon, Gudmundsson, Vokes, Wood, Barnes, Walters.
