Scott Fitzgerald struck a 93rd minute winner to send Hayes and Yeading United to a 2-1 win over Havant and Waterlooville on Saturday.
United appeared to be heading for a draw in the Blue Square South but substitute Esmond James' cutback enabled the former Watford striker to hit the decisive goal.
Both sides had to wait until ten minutes from time for the game to come to life. But in the 80th minute, Danny Webb flicked a header beyond the arms of Delroy Preddie.
United showed real character to turn the match around late on and they equalised within five minutes when Will Hendry cleverly turned his marker and curled in a stunning effort.
