A late free-kick by Will Hendry ensured Hayes and Yeading United earned a vital 1-1 draw at in-form St Albans City on Saturday in the Blue Square South.

The game came to life deep into the second half when the hosts, searching for their eighth successive league win, took the lead. Hassan Sulaiman put the ball into the danger area and striker Paul Hakim fired past Delroy Preddie.

United appeared to be heading for a rare defeat but they were saved just four minutes from time. Scott Fitzgerald was fouled outside the area and Hendry fired the set piece into the bottom corner of the net.
