Uxbridge footballer Mo Hashi will be pulling on the Three Lions of England again after being selected to represent the country at the European 6-a-side championships for the third time.

The defender will be heading off to Hungary as part of the squad who are bidding for glory at the 32-team Championships to be held in the city of Szekesfehervar.

The defender came through trials and training and had to compete with hundreds of others from around the country for the coveted slots.

And UK Minifootball Association national teams director Pete Mitchell believes Hashi thoroughly deserve their spot on the plane.

“Competition was fierce, but Mo is an experienced figure and will be looking to pass that knowledge on to the newer members of the squad,” he said.

Hashi is making his third appearance at the tournament, which has been won by Romania for the last five years.

England are making their fifth appearance at the European Championships where they have had some mixed results so far.

They were knocked out in the group stages in 2012 in Moldova before reaching the quarter-finals a year later in Crete.

England have reached the last 16 in each of the last two years.
