Frustration for Middlesex
Middlesex endured a disappointing end to Day One after a promising start to their County Championship Two match at Essex yesterday.
Andrew Strauss missed out on a century, as he reached 88 and was supported by Ed Joyce on 66, as Middlesex reached 192 for two yesterday.
But a collapse sent them spinning to 284 for seven this morning. Five wickets for James Middlebrook put Essex right back into the ascendancy.
Middlesex are looking to seal their first win of the season in Division Two.
