A career best innings from Ben Scott helped Middlesex fight back and gave them hope of a victory in today's final day against Northamptonshire.
The hosts were struggling yesterday at Uxbridge in the third day of their County Championship Two match when they were 105 for six in their second innings.
But wicket keeper Scott came in and his heroics revitalised the home side. His unbeaten knock of 141 helped take Middlesex to 377 for eight and a lead of 340 runs.
Eoin Morgan continued his rich vein of form with the bat as he struck 93.
It completed a miserable day for visiting bowler Monty Panesar who had 21 wicketless overs.
