It has been another trophyless season for Saracens but Alan Gaffney has ordered his deflated troops to play for pride when they take on title challenging Bath this evening (6pm).
The Men in Black's last remaining chance of silverware this season was ruined by Munster in last weekend's two point Heineken Cup defeat, but the director of rugby wants to see the same levels of passion and intensity against Steve Meehan's Euro Challenge Cup finalists.
"It's been very difficult for the players," said the Aussie. "After losing a game like that we've had to do everything we can to pick them up again. The players have got to play for pride, themselves and the people around them.
"We're going to finish sixth or seventh in the Premiership. We've got nothing to play for but all sides like to remain competitive. A number of sides have been doing that for some months now and that is what we've got to do. We've got to bite our tongue and move on - we can't whinge about anything."
