A teenager has been charged with the murders of two men found stabbed in a car, Scotland Yard said.
Devonte Campbell, 19, from east London, was charged after Aaron Carriere, 21, and Josiah Manful, 20, were found in the vehicle in Leytonstone, east London.
Mr Carriere and Mr Manful were both repeatedly stabbed after their black Ford Fiesta was stopped in Montague Road, north east London, in the early hours of Saturday March 1.
A gang of hooded attackers surrounded the car, leaving Mr Carriere with fatal knife wounds to his neck and Mr Manful with stab wounds to the chest. Both men were pronounced dead at the scene.
Post-mortem examinations found Mr Carriere died of stab wounds to the neck while the cause of death for Mr Manful was given as shock and haemorrhaging, and stab wounds to the chest.
In total, 12 people have been arrested in connection with the murders. On Wednesday March 5, five men aged between 18 to 22 were arrested on suspicion of murder while a 46-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. All six have been bailed pending further inquiries.
A sixth man was arrested on Thursday March 6, and was also bailed pending further inquiries. On Friday March 7, four men were arrested in connection with the investigation but were subsequently bailed.
