We are into February already and we are yet to have played a home game this calendar year. We have taken in the sights of Middlesbrough, Cardiff, Plymouth and Manchester in recent weeks which, as a part-time team, can take its toll.

Watford Ladies look to bounce back from tough fortnight
IT’S been a tough couple of weeks for the team as we have faced a Coventry United side who are top of the league, twice in two weeks.
Showing our strength in depth but improvements still needed
Another couple of games have gone by and we’ve managed to add 10 goals to our tally in two good wins away to Portsmouth (4-2) and at home to Gillingham (6-2). Something that stands out with those two results is the seven different goal scorers that have contributed.

Learning more in defeat and getting a big job done tonight
Since my first column, we have already had two league games which seems a bit crazy after what feels like such a long pre-season. We have had mixed weather and mixed fortunes over the two games with a sun-drenched 5-2 win over Cardiff City preceding a hugely disappointing, and wet, 3-1 defeat to recently promoted Loughborough Foxes.
Changes in the game and changing our mind-set
Here we go again. It’s almost time for what must be around my 15th season in senior football and, as with each and every year that has passed, I am glad to see the back of pre-season and the beginnings of the real thing.
