A restaurant in Marlow has undergone a huge refurbishment, as they plan to reopen to the public in the near future.

The Duke, which is based on Queens Road, confirmed that over the last seven weeks, major work has been done on the building which has now been transformed into a modern restaurant, bar, and music venue.

It was also confirmed that the Duke had a change of management.

In one of many Facebook posts by the business, a spokesperson from the Duke said: “The Duke will be a new music venue for all genres complete with our own music stage, a radically overhauled deck area outside and now the best pub garden (takes the sun all day!) in the town.

“The refit continues towards completion with extensive work completed in all three areas (the bar, the decks, and the garden), new refit, Chinese cuisine, live music, and the best venue in town.

“We know you are going to like it.

“It’s now just a question of when.”

The Duke was also excited to announce that popular Marlow chef Ling Poon, who used to work at the Coach and Horses, will be returning to the town to do eat in and takeaway Cantonese, Szechuan, and Peking dishes.

The spokesperson continued: “We have one screen inside and one on the decks.

“Both are audiovisually enabled, both showing a showreel of black and white images of over 250 bands on a 10-hour video loop, setting a world record for the world’s longest pub quiz music picture round.

"And sport will be shown on big occasions, but, on a 30 square foot drop-down screen, visible comfortably from everywhere in the bar.

“The Duke will maintain all of its history and dignity, keeping the spirit alive but with many, many exciting new additions and changes.”
