A Beaconsfield pub/restaurant has been named as the ‘One to Watch’ in the UK’s prestigious Top 50 Gastropubs awards.

The Greyhound, which is based on Windsor End within the town, was one of the 50 establishments to be named in the list when the announcement was made on Friday, March 26.

Voted by industry peers, the awards recognise the best Gastropubs from across the country.

“The Top50 Gastropub awards are incredibly prestigious and winning the ‘One to Watch’ really highlights the efforts of the whole team over the course of a year nobody would ever have imagined.

“We are delighted to have picked this award up and hope we can kick on and keep improving.

"We’ve always said, we want to create something our local area can be proud of.

"We hope this is the first step on that journey.”

Opened by the husband and wife team of Daniel Crump and Margriet Vandezande-Crump in December 2019, the pub establishment has only traded for seven months due to the pandemic.

Based in a 17th century Grade II listed old Coaching Inn, it offers guests a modern take on British classics, served in a dining room created with comfort in mind.

It also offers beers and ales from local breweries.

The inclusion in the list should come as no surprise as the duo have worked in some of the UK’s most established restaurants, such as Michelin starred Petrus in Knightsbridge, Restaurant Gordon Ramsay in Chelsea, Trinity in Clapham, and also The Oxford Blue, Old Windsor.

Margriet  Vandezande-Crump added: “We are so pleased to have won this award.

“It’s safe to say that the last year has been tough on so many levels but this award is testament to what we’ve been able to achieve alongside our community.
