Set your toes to tapping and your fingers to snapping – the EFG London Jazz Festival returns to the capital, with a number of world-class artists and emerging stars stopping in at our very own artsdepot in North Finchley.

Young Pilgrims are a lively and exuberant Scottish-English nine-piece who mix joyful brass music, inexhaustible energy and humour, and who invite you to march around with them and be part of their rock-induced brass band madness (November 16, 12.15pm).

World-class violinist Omar Puente and his quartet – comprised of piano, drums, bass and electric violin – will perform rhythmic jazz with Afro-Cuban roots from his forthcoming album, Best Foot Forward (November 16, 4pm).

A spectacular mix of jazz, Latin and rhythm tap is on offer from the Michèle Drees Jazz Tap Project, as tap becomes percussion as well as performance (November 18, 7.30pm).

Best known as the voice of Basement Jaxx, Brendan Reilly is a respected singer songwriter of jazz, soul, pop and dance music and here he will perform tracks from his eagerly awaited debut album (November 20, 7.45pm).

George Montague is a piano-hitting, string-twanging, gravity-defying singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist with almost five million views on YouTube. See him in the flesh as he performs his contagious original songs (November 23, 12.15pm).

The jazziness finishes at artsdepot with something for the children – Catapluf’s Musical Journey, a show from percussionist and composer Adriano Adewale that’s packed full of globetrotting grooves for five- to 11-year-olds. Catapluf is fascinated by sounds and his imagination takes him to places where everything makes music – saucepans, water, and even the body (November 23, 11am and 2pm).
