Last month, we interviewed Watford folk stars The Staves, when Emily Staveley-Taylor discussed the band’s new EP, Blood I Bled, and revealed details of working on their second album, If I Was, with Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon at his home in Wisconsin.
The album is due out on February 2, 2015, and tickets for the band’s full UK and Ireland tour in support of the album go on sale today (Friday).
Unfortunately, the closest the girls – sisters Emily, Camilla and Jessica – will come to their home town on the tour is the Hackney Empire on February 12, something that we at the Watford Observer think is unacceptable!
“We need to perform in Watford and we will,” Emily told us, “it’s just something always crops up. We’re proud of the fact we’re from here – in America there are people wearing Greetings from Watford, Home to The Staves T-shirts, which always makes us miss home. But who knows, maybe we’ll come back and do something.”
If you think The Staves should play to their home crowd, tweet them @thestaves with the hashtag #stavescomehome and let’s see if we can get them playing in Watford again.
