THE very best of Fort Worth music talent is in town for a Texas Music Takeover with a wide-ranging line-up of stars from the land of cowboys and culture.

Although country has now overtaken classic rock at the top spot of popularity in America, the Texan music vibes cover all genres.

On Tuesday at The Pickle Factory, you can check out the modern, soulful sounds of life-long musician Luke Wade, 33, a finalist from Season 7 of the American version of TV talent show The Voice, who was coached by Pharrell.

But on Sunday he couldn’t be further from his comfort zone when he will be taking on the very British tradition of busking at Oxford Circus Station, midday to 1pm and Tottenham Court Road Station, 1pm to 2pm. Shoppers nd tourists will be in for a rare treat.

Luke, born in Dublin, Texas, has headlined over 1,000 dates and has opened for artists such as Patti LaBelle, Andy Grammer and MKTO. He compares his sound to songwriters such as Adele, James Bay and Sam Smith but with an American twist.

His single Three Days was released in October and the album Only Ghosts will be out in January 2017.

Performing alongside Luke will be another artist who gained exposure on the American Voice show, Austin Allsup, also from Fort Worth. Launching a new album on Friday, December 2 at The Garage Upstairs, Islington will be Sean McConnell, a country and contemporary bluegrass artist who was just 15 when he self-released his first album, Faces, in 2000.
