Folk at the Maltings welcomes cutting edge young duo Tom Moore (viola) and Archie Churchill-Moss (accordion) as guest performers at a concert on Friday, November 1, at the Abbey Theatre Studio in St Albans.

Tom began learning Suzuki-method violin aged four, and Archie has been playing the Diatonic Accordion since age nine. The two formed a duo in their early teens, practising together over the internet, and were New Roots finalists in 2008. Later they formed a trio with guitarist and singer Jack Rutter, with whom they won the BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award in 2011 and toured extensively.

They are now performing a programme of brand new instrumental music, almost all of it self-penned and improvised. Taking influences from all corners of Northern Europe, an evening in the musical company of Moore and Moss will leave you mesmerised.
