THE sun might be shining, but plans are already in hand for a popular community pantomime – and you could be in it.

This year, the classic Jack and the Beanstalk will be performed at Harrow Arts Centre in Uxbridge Road, Hatch End and, if you want to get involved, now’s your chance!

The producers are looking for enthusiastic people who enjoy acting, dancing or singing to be part of the panto theatre company.

You don’t need to have previous experience; you just need to enjoy acting and be up for trying new things! Even if performing isn’t your thing, there are plenty of backstage jobs up for grabs - from lighting and sound to hair and make-up.

The audition process is friendly and open to everyone aged over 16. The director and musical director will run through some simple group activities and teach a song from the show, and you’ll be asked to read from a script as a variety of characters.

Cate Gordon, participation programmer, said: “The cast is always a great mix of people, students, working parents, retired people and of a wide range of ages.”

Auditions take place on August 10 from 10am-5pm. To register for a place, contact Cate on cate.gordon@harrow.gov.uk for a registration form.

Tickets are already on sale for Jack and the Beanstalk on Harrow Arts Centre’s website (www.harrowarts.com) and through the box office, 020 8416 8989.

The fun begins on Thursday, December 18.
