DANCERS can now join singers and vocal groups for the 2008 local heats of Idol 2008. Now in its fourth year, the competition attracts more than 10,000 applicants.

The competition will now offer singers and dancers the opportunity to perform live in front of large audiences as well as the chance to win up to £25,000 in prizes if crowned the eventual UK winner. The competition has two age categories – under 18 and 18 and over. The selected individuals from the auditions will then qualify to appear in regional live shows in front of a capacity crowd.

Additionally, vocal winners will receive a range of prizes including, for the winning act, a recording contract to enable them to release a single. The dance winners will go on a UK tour and appear in the video for the vocal winner’s single.
