Amateur beer makers will have the chance to be crowned the area’s best brew as a beer festival is returning to two village pubs this Saturday.

Brewfest will be back for its second year from 12pm to 11pm at the Villiers Arms and Rifle Volunteer pubs in Villiers Road, Oxhey.

A tasting barrel from the Oxhey Village Brewery will be on display as part of a competition to judge the best amateur brews in the area.

Both pubs will have nine different craft and real ales available from across the country, as well as some more locally produced beer from Tring and the Watling Street Brewery, in Watford.

There will also be face-painting, live jazz and blues, as well as artisan pizza, a quiz and fruit gin and vodka tasting too.

The event will be helping to raise funds for the Watford Peace Hospice.
