TWO exercise classes are being held at Northolt Leisure Centre in memory of former member Patricia Clifford.
Pat had been a cashier in Sainsbury’s in Northolt Road and was a regular at the centre’s swimming pool and group exercise classes.
She was diagnosed with lung cancer in November 2015 and was given only six months to a year to live.
She kept active and surrounded herself with family and friends, many of whom she met at the leisure centre. She survived a further two and a half years after diagnosis.
In her last days, Pat was cared for by her daughter, family and Rennie Grove Hospice in Chalfont St. Giles.

To thank the hospice, Everyone Active, which runs the leisure centre in partnership with Ealing Council, is holding two fund-raiser classes on August 15.
They are Forever Fit 50+ from 11.30-12.30 and Aqua 50+ from 1-1.45. People attending are being asked to donate £5 or an amount of their choosing.
Shani, Pat’s daughter, said: “I am touched by the fact Northolt Leisure Centre wishes to do a fund-raiser in her name as it further highlights the impact she made in so many people’s lives.”
Anona Lundgren, Everyone Active general manager added: “Pat was a lovely woman; always smiling, jovial and full of good humour, even after her awful diagnosis.”
