Local pensioner Joy Watson, appealed to anyone who might have spotted a discarded brown coffee coloured fabric purse of great sentimental value, which was lost in Worcester Park High Street, earlier today.

The purse, which is approximately twelve centimetres by four centimeters, went missing somewhere between the Natwest Bank and the charity shop on the opposite side of the road.

Watson, who had visited various charity shops, together with Superdrug, was shocked to discover the purse missing when she went to pay in the stationers.

She said: " I have lost a good friend having bought the purse in Singapore on my way to New Zealand on the trip of a lifetime 15 years ago. It was still as good as new.”

Together with her bank card and a considerable amount of money, Watson also lost her driving licence.

She added:  “At nearly eighty, this experience has been both tramatic and upsetting and I am hoping that the purse will be recovered.”

If anyone spots the purse, please hand into the local police station or email djarvis@london.newsquest.co.uk
