STUDENT Rosanne Watson has been chosen as a Superstar, the top award of Uxbridge College's annual awards ceremony.
The 20 year-old, from Harefield Road Uxbridge, was picked out as the overall winner out of 10,000 part-time and full-time students for her hard work, support to other students and general contribution to the college.
Rosanne gained three A-Level A grades and gained entry into the London School of Economics. Rosanne was unable to attend the ceremony at the Beck Theatre on September 20, so her tutor Gill Boocock collected the award on her behalf. Mrs Boocock said: "Rosanne is so modest but I am sure would be delighted. She is an excellent team player and very supportive of others."
Awards of the night were presented by Tim Campbell, winner of the first apprentice show in 2005, who now earns £100,000 a year.
Mr Campbell used some of his money to set up the Bright Ideas Trust which supports young entrepreneurs in disadvantaged areas. He told the Hillingdon Times: "The Apprentice worked for me but there are so many other opportunities in the real world you can exploit."
Principle of Uxbridge College Laraine Smith said: "Colleges like Uxbridge are unique. it is our diversity that makes us what we are. Tonight belongs to the students who came to us with the hope of achieving their dreams and many have done it against the odds."
