Remembrance services will be held to commemorate the 100 year anniversary of the end of the First World War.

There will be a service at Vicarage Road Cemetery at 11am on Saturday.

On Sunday, events include:

• All Saints Church, Horseshoe Lane at 9am

• St Matthew's Church, Eastbury Road at 10.15am

• Leavesden Memorial, High Road at 11am

• Oxhey Village Green at 2.15pm

• Civic Service at the Town Hall at 3pm

Led by Elected Mayor Peter Taylor, Watford Museum in High Street will also be joining services around the country in a beacon lighting ceremony.

You can join the mayor and others in the Museum garden at 7pm on Sunday and admission is free.

Watford Museum will also be hosting an exhibition in the Museum’s foyer and Space2 Gallery until December 22.

The exhibition describes the impact on Watford during the Great War as it was told by newspapers at the time.

Watford Museum is normally open from Thursday to Saturday, 10am to 5pm but it will be open later than usual on Remembrance Sunday, from 5 to 9pm, to allow visitors attending the beacon lighting the opportunity to see The Great War exhibition.
