Christmas is a difficult time to stick to a diet plan – but a weight loss programme starting next year could be the way forward.

Peace Hospice Care’s Pounds for Pounds fundraising event returns this January helping people get fighting fit for 2019 with the support of a qualified nutritionist.

Tony Walker from Croxley took part in last year’s 12-week plan and lost three stone which he said, “changed his life”.

He attended weekly sessions with nutritionist Linda Munster, received a free gym membership and personal training and took part in gym classes before appearing at a grand finale to showcase the results.

Registration for new applicants to the fitness programme is now open.

Tony said: “I tried for years to lose weight but never succeeded. Linda got inside my head and suddenly I understood why my relationship with food was so toxic, and my diet changed.

“It was an unbelievable journey; I lost about three stone over 12 weeks and this has changed my life.

“I can’t recommend the programme enough.”

Tracey Bravo, community fundraising manager, added: “The money raised will help us run our vital services so anyone taking part will help themselves, but also help the community too.”
