A dance competition next year will see finalists strut their stuff before an audience of hundreds.

Peace Hospice Care’s annual dance competition, Strictly Come Hospice starts again this January and registration places are now open.

Participants can join individually or as a couple, enjoying seven weeks of professional lessons starting in January before a grand finale at the Watersmeet Theatre, in March.

Competitors can also expect to perform in front of an audience of 500 people and a panel of expert judges.

Past participant, David Hibbert, from Bushey, said: “I have done Strictly for the past three years. I was nervous at first as I had never danced before.

“It soon became clear that there were many people there who were in the same boat and the instructors were very helpful and friendly.

“Before we knew it, we were all enjoying the experience and all getting on so well. I had an absolutely amazing experience every time whilst raising vital funds for Peace Hospice Care. I would recommend it to anyone.”

Lisa Rowland, Peace Hospice Care events manager, said: “We’re so pleased to be organising our annual Strictly Come Hospice event for January 2019. The event will be supported by Paul Alex Dance Studios again this year.

“This is a fantastic opportunity to learn a new skill, take up a new hobby and make some great friends. We are seeking couples and individuals for the 2019 event, so I would encourage anyone who is interested in joining to head over to the website to sign up today.”
