An MP who appealed to people to donate to an animal charity’s shoebox appeal has given a statement about how much of a success it was.
Shoe boxes filled with food, toys and blankets were given to the National Animal Welfare Trust's Shoe Box Appeal over Christmas.
Richard Harrington MP said: “Christmas is a time to think of those less fortunate, including abandoned animals who need our protection.
“I’d been in touch with the NAWT’s local team, and they told me that they were desperate for food, toys and blankets for their rescue pets.
“I’m so grateful to everyone who kindly donated, meaning that the volunteers can continue to care for abandoned animals in Watford.”
