Two lanes were closed on the M1 after a car smashed into the central reservation.
Highways officers were at the scene of the crash which happened on the northbound carriageway between j4 for Edgware and j5 for Watford.
It happened at around 11.30am, but by 12.45pm, all lanes were back open and congestion has cleared too.
The barrier has been quite severely crumpled and the car hit it with such force that it ripped out the post which attaches the barrier to the ground, as well as some of the surface.
No other vehicles were involved.
It is believed one minor injury was sustained and although an ambulance was initially called, a decision was made that paramedics did not need to attend.
